Come Sailing with the Dolphins on our 42 ft. Catamaran on Oahu

Reconnect with Nature at her best... wild and free

An unheard of 4 - 15 passengers on 42-ft. catamaran supports best room, comfort, and an intimate journey for four hour tours. Continental Breakfast and refreshments served onboard, private bathroom and fresh water shower.

Year round daily morning wildlife travels include dolphin, turtle and whale watching (seasonal) encounters and snorkels, Mother Nature allowing! An up-close face-to-face encounter with Oahu marine wildlife is a unique experience that inspires awareness and commitment to the protection of these animals and the marine environment

Imagine a pod of spinner dolphins as your private Hawaii traveling companion. Our marine biologist crew sails elite groups to watch the dolphins, not in tanks - but where they live. Watch dolphin behaviors that can be seen in only very few places worldwide. Not only do these trips offer "edutainment" but proceeds go to the Wild Dolphin Foundation for conservation activities.

Hawaiian Spinner Dolphins feed at night, so we are essentially entering (or peacefully watching from nearby) their nearshore "bedroom." The most acrobatic of all dolphins, the spinners may be be courting, communicating, resting, socializing, nursing or teaching their young. Observations atthis time help us to learn about and protect these dolphins and their habitat. Join us to breathlessly viewtheir fantastic displays of sheer joy and exuberance, undisturbed.

Dolphins are not only beautiful and fun to watch, they are an important part of a very complex and fragile ecosystem. As an indicator species, the dolphins are a barometer of the health of our coastal waters. Providing a safe and peaceful place to live and raise their young, sufficient natural food, clean water and air should be the main goal and responsibility for all of us, whether residents or visitors. By working together we insure that all dolphins will be here to delight us for generations to come.

Do we need to be strong swimmers, are there age limits?
There are no age limits, however children at 7 yrs of age and older are preferred for day tours. Most younger children find it difficult (and trying for their parents) to "sit still" within their parents eyesight for the extended periods which may be required onboard. If you feel this is something that you and your 6 year old or under can handle (we feel parents are the best judge, and we've had toddlers that have absolutely made our day), send us an email or call and talk to us.

We are lifeguard certified (CPR and all the necessities) and can suit you up with lifejackets and other floatables to increase your security quotient, for any "in the water" activity. We also do all we can to make our passengers familiar and comfortable with snorkeling. However, the best bet is to practice snorkeling at home or in the hotel pool (or even the bathtub!) before you come. This will increase your comfort level in the water dramatically.

For wild dolphin swims, it is usually best to be both a good swimmer and comfortable snorkeling in the ocean. If passengers choose to stay onboard, dolphins are easily viewed from this higher elevation (a few feet make a big difference in the water - aerial behaviors are better seen from the boat !), and the clarity of the water still allows you to observe their underwater antics when they visit the boat.

I don't want to be shark bait!
Did you know that "Jaws" is still rated the #1 scariest movie of all times? This movie has really given sharks a bad rap. Less than one shark attack occurs per year on average in Hawaii. This attack rate is surprisingly low considering that tens of thousands of people swim, surf and dive in Hawaiian waters every day. Despite these statistics, shark attacks remain a highly emotionally charged topic.

"Sharks have always been feared since time immemorial and shark attacks can be terrible, but they are few and far between. The media greatly hype shark attacks and few people realize how rare they are. The odds of a human being attacked by - let alone being killed by a shark - are much less than being killed by lightning strike, bee stings, heart attack, stroke, automobile accident, plane crash, falling off ladders, drowning in bathtubs, swallowing peanuts the wrong way, almost anything is more likely to kill human beings than sharks. " PETER BENCHLEY, author of "Jaws"

How do I make reservations?
You can e-mail us with your availability on info@OneLoveOneSpirit.com or call toll-free at 1-877-677-1166. It is best to reserve as early as possible, as last minute bookings can be hard to get. We suggest one month ahead of time, but will accept bookings up to the night before, if there is space. Our cancellation policy guarantees you won't be charged anything if you cancel at least 10 days before your departure date. A $40 per person deposit is required upon booking to lock in your reservation. Gift certificates are available, and a great idea for honeymooners, anniversaries, birthdays, etc.

What do I need to bring?
We provide ice-cold drinks, snacks, along with continental breakfast on morning charters. You can bring anything else, if you like, and throw it in the cooler. Be fully prepared to guard against sunburn, the sun in the tropics is very intense. Sunglasses (polarized will give you the optimal experience), hats, and cover-ups are needed, even in the shade. It is usually best to put SPF 30+ sunscreen on before you leave your hotel room, and again while on your adventure.

We supply snorkel gear, but we do have a limited supply of fins (imagine 5 folks needing size 13 fins, and the rest needing size 1!). Its best to bring your own equipment if you have, ensuring you a good fit.

If prone to sea-sickness, start popping ginger pills about a week before the charter date. Also, sea-bands (elastic bands that work on accupressure) are readily available , or over-the-counter medication. Bonine, an over-the-counter medication causes the least drowsiness. It and Dramamine are best if started the night before your charter. Black soles make major scuff marks on boat decks :-( But barefeet are fine!

Where are you located and how do we get there?
We have a printable map page that also contains reminders of what to bring and our (unlisted!) telephone number. The overall best bet (time and cost) to get yourselves here is to rent a car.

Taxi's range anywhere from $60 to $110 each way.

What time do we leave and what is the approximate return time?
Half days are 4 hours and we leave the harbor at 7am. Afternoon charters leave at 12pm. Sunset charters leave about one hour before sunset. We have a very short twilight time here in the tropics! Check-in is 10 minutes prior to the departure time. Due to the nature of our tours (optimal time based on the behaviors of the animals), it is very important that you are on time .

Do you have provisions for families or individuals with special needs?
At this point, we have successfully worked with blind, deaf, quadriplegics, paraplegics, folks using prosthetics, autistic children and adults, kids with cerebral palsy, and people suffering from depression (off the top of my head!). The vessel is wheelchair accessible although once onboard, movement is limited, and the restroom is not wheel chair accessible. Depending on your weight and size we may or may not be able to get you in the water, but if you can get in the water the torpedo tow is made for you!

We can schedule an interpreter for the deaf (you won't need to lift your head out of the water to be "talked" to!) The blind can easily be led through the water, but can also find the dolphins by focusing on their whistles and clicks. Dolphins are acoustically based also. :-)

The love of nature (biophilia), and dolphins and whales in particular, seems to have quite a profound effect on all hearts. The kids have been amazing, we can all stand to learn from them. We also partner with the Make a Wish Foundation to give children a chance to fulfill their ultimate dreams. We are open to and welcome similar challenges, jot us an email and let's work together.

What if something comes up and we can't make it, and are there other policies I should be aware of? Cancellations can be made up to 10 days ahead of time with no charge. If we cancel due to weather, safety precautions or any other reason, there is no charge. Cancellations made within the 10 day period before departure and "no shows" will be held responsible for the full price. There is 15% rescheduling fee, if you need a "last minute" change (and if possible) after your date has been confirmed. Any damages caused to the boat by overt negligence or extremely bad judgment will be charged to offender or responsible party, thus keeping costs down for other passengers. We also hold the right to end any sea life/human interaction that is harmful or disrespectful and will return immediately to the harbor, with no refunds. Any requests to be changed from a confirmed date will be subject to a 15% fee of your total rate. Thanks for reading through this.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
~ Bananas are considered bad luck on boats all over the world. Please leave them at home! Although not in any way necessary, if you have a good day on the water, tipping of the crew is appropriate. (10% to 15% is standard)
